Because there was no nostalgia for Thanos, he’s not a beloved childhood character that people already liked in the version we had. You’re retroactively trying to say the first version of Thanos was hated by everyone, it wasn’t. We just got a better version several years later that people enjoyed because it was an improvement. This genie is not an improvement. This million dollar CGI genie looks worse than the 2D cartoon version from the 90’s. It’s objectively terrible CGI rendering, that’s why people are criticizing it.

The CGI isn't "bad", it was intended to be that (I also don't like how it looks btw). Just keep in mind that high resolution frames take a lot to render, so blockbusters render in high quality only what they think you'll be paying attention. That saves a lot of time and the movie can be released in due time. Yes, Avengers CGI is mostly pure shit

Yeah, and Than(at)os still looks bad. If it wasn't for Brolin's charisma he would just be remembered as a scrotum-beard cousin of the goblin king from The Hobbit. And no, Will Smith had charisma when he was young, that time is long past, now he just plays himself (Johnny Depp style)
